Argyle Legends v BBC South West

A rare sight indeed as Plymouth Argyle Legends V BBC South West football match is being held at Dean Cross Plymstock on Easter Sunday.

See your favourite argyle ledged battle it out against a handpicked team from the BBC.

Please come along and support this event, the bar will be open, with a raffle and some top prizes……what more could you need for some family fun on an Easter Sunday.

As usual all funds raised will go towards supporting men with prostate cancer across Devon & Cornwall.

sign up for the 2010 Chestnut Cup

This will be the charity’s second tournament taking place on Sunday 25th April 2010 at Marjon College in Plymouth.
Teams consisting of 6 players will have the opportunity to battle it out for a place in the Final and the chance to be crowned Chestnut Cup winners 2010.
Team entry costs £80, with all proceeds to the Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer.
David Squires from the Chestnut Appeal is urging teams to sign-up and show their support.
"This is a great opportunity for lads across the region to showcase their footie skills and prove themselves against the other local teams – whilst of course raising money for the charity"
The event ran without a hitch last year thanks to the help of students from Marjons and Plymouth University.

England Legend Sir Geoff Hurst comes to town.....

Plymstock United is putting on a special event in May to be held at Boringdon Hall in Plympton. With tickets selling for £40 per person please don't delay as this will be a sell out event.

An evening of sporting guest speakers, including Englands very own Sir Geoff Hurst. A comedian to tickle your funny bones and an auction of sporting memorabilia to raise funds for The Chestnut Appeal, including a rare opportunity to buy a personally signed poster. A two course meal is also included and smart attire is a must for this prestigious event.

The Devon County Show

It's quite fitting that on our 10th Birthday we have been chosen as the main charity for The Devon County Show.

This is a huge event spanning 3 days and we need volunteers, 20 a day in fact. So if you want a free ticket into the ground, a free t-shirt and loads of kudos then get in touch and offer to volunteer at our brilliant stand, kindly kitted out by Pyramid-Presentations.

Plymouth Half Marathon

Could you run the Plymouth Half Marathon to help men and their families with prostate cancer?

A guaranteed charity place costs just £30.00, which includes a free t-shirt and sponsorship forms. There is no minimum amount to collect, but every penny you raise will stay locally and go towards buying some new prostate cancer kit that is currently not available on the NHS.

Coast to Coast cycle ride

Fancy a challenge? Then why not take part in the charity's first ever Coast to Coast cycle ride.

Cycling 103 miles across the beautiful county of Devon, with 70 miles of this event being off-road, this event is sure to challenge even the hardiest of riders.

It's on the 3rd 4th 5th June 2010, start at Ilfracombe and ending at Derriford Hospitals Main Entrance in Plymouth.

Spaces are strictly limited, and there is a minimum sponsorship entry of £300 which does inc. accommodation on two nights & a fully supported back up vehicle.

Plymouth Armed Forces Week

Formally opened by The Lord Mayor at 10am, Plymouth Armed Forces week have invited us along to join in with the celebrations. The Chestnut Appeal will be holding an information stand in Plymouths' Guildhall. So why not stop by for the latest prostate advice and some freebies to take away.

3rd Annual Chestnut Walk

Registration for our 4th Annual Chestnut Walk is now open.

Stroll around the beautiful Burrator Reservoir and raise funds for your local charity at the same time. Last year over 100 people took part, so please help this years walk be bigger and better than ever before.

This relaxing 4 mile walk takes just over an hour to complete and is accessible for all the family, including our four legged friends (leads please).
