CHESTNUT APPEAL FOR PROSTATE CANCER PLYMOUTH DEVON CORNWALL SOUTH WEST UK

The weather could not have been better

11th November 2009

The weather could not have been better for the third annual Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer sponsored walk. The sun shone throughout and there was a cooling breeze to help the walkers as they strolled around the beautiful Burrator Reservoir.

100 walkers of all ages enjoyed a relaxing 4 mile walk and helped raise just over £2000.00 plus lots of awareness for men with prostate cancer and their families in Devon & Cornwall.

BBC Spotlight’s Natalie Cornah set everyone off on their way at just after 11am, and in no time at all the first walker was home to tuck into a sausage and salsa bap, prepared by David, Jacques and Sue.

By the time all the walkers had completed the walk there was little left of anything but a few scraps for the dogs.

Many thanks for all who took part on a thoroughly enjoyable morning, with special thanks to Natalie Cornah, Jacques and Sue Marchal, David Ashen of Cuisine Spontanee, to all those who helped on the day, to Westaways for supplying the sausages and to Morrisons in Plymouth for supplying all the vegetables.
