Chestnut Appeal
What is prostate Cancer

The support of our local community has enabled the Chestnut Appeal to continue its fantastic work around the region.

FUNDRAISING FOR THE CHESTNUT APPEAL

How you can get Involved

Why not sign up for an event or organise your own? Without the continued support from the local community we would not be able to make such a difference to prostate cancer care in the region.

There are so many great fun ways to raise funds for the Chestnut Appeal. You could jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet, Barbara did in 2009 and raised over £400, you could run a marathon like Jim Cording raising over £1,600. Or you could organise your own event, such as a sponsored walk, a pub quiz, a coffee morning or even ask guests to donate to the charity in lieu of presents, in 2009 Mervyn Reed did when he celebrated his 65th birthday and raised a staggering £10,240 for the charity.

And there are a host of different challenges to take up in 2011. Footballers can enter a team in the Chestnut Cup 6 a-side tournament in April, cyclists will have the opportunity to experience the very best of Brittany in a 208 mile ride in May or take part in an exciting 100km moonlit cycle ride through London; visit www.classictours.co.uk for more information. Swimmers look out for a sponsored swim around Burgh Island in the summer whilst those who fancy something a little less strenuous can take part in our annual Chestnut walk around Burrator Reservoir in September.

If you would like to receive more information about holding a fundraising event then please contact us. We can help spread the word, with information and support.

At present the Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer does not receive donations from local government towards the work we do.

As a member of the Fundraising Standards Board we adhere to the highest standards of good practice.
