Drakes Island Swim 2020
The Chestnut Appeal’s Drakes Island swim will take place on Sunday 12th July with a swim time of around 10.00am.
Participants will set off from the beach at Firestone Bay with the swim to Drakes Island and back taking place in the shelter of the Bay.
Situated in Plymouth Sound, this 6.5 acre Island has been home to a military fortification since the time of the Tudors. Today the Island is in private hands.
It’s a great swim for anyone new to an organised Open Water Swim at around 1.5km in distance. Swimmers of all abilities and ages have taken part in this event .
Registration for the 2020 Drakes Island Swim is £30. Your entry fee covers the cost of organising the event, but it’s the money you raise that helps Prostate Cancer patients and their families across Devon and Cornwall.
The 2020 Drakes Island swim is covered by Event Protect event cancellation ‘the benefits of Event Protect are part of the fees paid at registration’.
So we ask all our swimmers set themselves a Sponsorship target of at least £50.
